Qualifications for Active Membership

  1. A personal new birth experience through faith in the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  2. Evidence of a consistent Christian life and character.

  3. An agreement with the doctrines and practices of Winnfield First Assembly of God.

  4. A willingness to be governed in church matters by the Constitution and Bylaws of the church.

  5. A commitment to support the church in attendance, prayer, and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities of Membership

The church should expect me as a member to:

  • Faithfully attend its services

  • Be aware of the total church program at home and abroad and support it through prayer

  • Actively striving to live a consistent Christian life

  • Serve in the church and its outreach according to my abilities

  • Share my Christian testimony by word and life on a person to person basis

  • Support its work by the methods of tithing and offerings

Privileges of Membership

A member should expect the church to:

  • Minister to my spiritual needs, especially through the preaching of the Word

  • Assist me with godly counsel especially in times of decision, stress, and difficulty

  • Provide me with opportunities for Christian fellowship

  • Serve me and members of my family in matters of religious instruction

  • Sustain me by prayers and concern of the pastor and fellow believers in the distressing circumstances of life

  • Be a sound steward of my financial and personal investments in the kingdom of God.

Church Membership Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and having made a confession of my faith in Him, I now desire to enter into membership with other members of Winnfield First Assembly of God in Winnfield, Louisiana.

I commit to walk together in Christian love with other members of the body of Christ, to strive for the advancement of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ and this Fellowship of Believers in knowledge, holiness and unity, and to promote its prosperity and its spirituality, to sustain its worship, ordinances and discipline, and believe that a strict standard of faith and practice is the minimum of righteousness that the Lord expects of His believers.

I hereby subscribe to the following statements of practice and shall continue to do so by the grace of God:

• I have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.
• I am living a consistent Christian life.
• I fully subscribe to the Tenets of Faith as set forth in the Constitution and By-Laws adopted by this assembly.
• I will consistently attend the services of this assembly and participate in its functions.
• I will contribute regularly to the support of this assembly with my tithes and offerings.

I have examined my life in accordance with the above statements and hereby apply for church membership with Winnfield First Assembly of God. If for any reason I should ever depart or fall below these standards, I shall consider and agree that I am automatically released from active membership in this assembly.
